DocsBuild with AppJet

GitHub and branches

Connect repositories, review changes, and keep your work in sync.

Connect the right repositories

Sign in through GitHub OAuth and install the AppJet GitHub App. Grant access to the repositories you want to work on. If a repository is missing, check which GitHub account you used and the installation’s repository selection and permissions.

AppJet normally works on the appjet branch. You can use additional branches for separate changes. The production edge endpoint and custom-domain workflow use the appjet branch.

Edit and review code

Ask the agent to explain code, fix a bug, add a feature, or plan a larger change. You can also edit files manually in the file explorer and upload supported code, image, and web-asset files.

Review the changes and commit history before merging. Check that the changes have synced to GitHub; local workspace progress and a successful push are separate events. Ask the agent to prepare a pull request when the necessary GitHub tools and permissions are available.

Documentation and research

Ask the agent to document a project, explain a function, or identify gaps in existing documentation. When a task depends on an external API or library, ask it to check the relevant documentation using the tools available to the task.

If GitHub authentication fails

Confirm that the GitHub App is installed on the correct account or organization and has access to the repository. Record the exact error, repository, branch, and any unsynced commits before contacting Help.

Do not reset or recreate a workspace to fix authentication while it contains unsynced work. Preserve the branch and commits first. See troubleshooting.
